TAGS stands for Transparency, Accountability, Governance and Sustainability. The newly rebranded awards reflect the core values of the over half a century competition; to strengthen and uphold the integrity of financial, environmental, social and governance reporting.

Exterminators firmly believes that good Corporate Governance is fundamental in ensuring that the company is well managed in the best interest of its shareholders and essential for sustainable growth. High standards of governance is the core of a company in driving it towards long term goals in an ethical, efficient and effective manner, whilst fostering an entrepreneurial culture.

Marlon Ferreira, Managing Director, Exterminators PLC stated:

“We are delighted and honored to win a TAGS award for our first published Annual Report. Since inception we carefully planned our strategic objectives and executed with precision, to set the benchmark in our industry and the SME sector in Sri Lanka and emerging markets.

"We applied and adhered to practices cascading throughout the organization and cultivated a culture to be more transparent, accountable, sustainable and compliant while being productive and agile in an ever-changing dynamic business landscape.

"In addition to  financial reporting, we also focus heavily on non-financial reporting as Asia’s 1st ‘Carbon Neutral and ‘Great Place To Work’ certified company and as a participant of the ‘United Nations Global Compact’ the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

"In the coming months and years we plan to further align our strategies and operations with the universal principals on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption."

He continued, "We recognize the challenges ahead in charting our future growth trajectory in an extremely turbulent and volatile business landscape. As Sri Lanka’s economy recovers from the challenges faced, we will remain resolute in taking care of our employees, customers, stakeholders and the planet."
