Sam D’Angelo, marketing manager at Lodi UK, says grain rejections can cost farmers as much as £50/tonne, which is why grain and animal feed storage needs close attention.

“The ‘Grain Store Pest Protection’ webinar...is aimed at agronomists, arable farmers and pest controllers who want to protect their grain stores or animal feed bins from pests such as grain weevils and rodents,” says Sam.

“The webinar will be presented by two well-known industry specialists and there will also be a live Q&A panel at the end, where you can ask questions and Farmer Tom, Arable Farmer & Founder of the charity, Farmer Time will give a farmer’s perspective.

“Ken Black from Bayer will focus on grain storage hygiene and the importance of early store preparation pre-harvest. In addition, Mark Ward from Command Pest Control will be presenting on the practical elements of pest control best practice."

He continues, “Following on with the grain theme, we also have Dan Szor, from Cotswolds Distillery talking about the post-harvest process of turning grain into whiskey.

“In case the weather is bright and there are tasks that can’t wait, you are also able to ‘phone in' to the webinar and listen to it handsfree."

He adds that anyone who signs up will be able to request a 16-page guide which will contain all the information included in the webinar, in an easy-to-read format with plenty of additional topics, like fly and rodent control, covered.

Programme:

  • Introduction from Roger Simpson, Lodi
  • Grain store hygiene with Ken Black from Bayer
  • Pest control and cleaning in grain stores with Mark Ward from Command Pest Control
  • From Harvest to Whiskey, The Journey of Farmers Grain with Dan Szor, from Cotswold’s Distillery
  • Q&A session with Farmer Tom, Ken, Mark and Roger.
