Overview
This 3 day First Aid at Work Course will provide sufficient knowledge, understanding and practical skills to administer First Aid. This course is has a practical assessment and a written examination.
During the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) programme, you will learn:
1. The role and responsibilities of a First Aider
2. Assessing an accident
3. Managing an unresponsive casualty
4. Managing a casualty who is not breathing normally
5. Managing a choking casualty
6. Managing external bleeding
7. Managing minor injuries
8. Conducting a secondary survey
9. Administering first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones
10. Administering first aid to a casualty with muscles and joint
11. Administering first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
12. Administering first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
13. Administering first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
14. Administering first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
15. Administering first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
16. Providing first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
This programme is suitable for anyone and everyone, however you might find it useful if your have attended a Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work.
This qualification is awarded by HABC.

Delivery

Classroom programme
This is a three-day, classroom-based programme.
9.00 am for coffee, 9.30 am start, 4.30 pm finish. There are no prerequisites for this course.

Assessments

During the programme, you will be assessed for practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
All study will be achieved during the three-day course. Homework may be given. Bandages can be taken home for practice.
This qualification will have an expiry date of 3 years. An annual refresher is also recommended.
